Domains

Free DNS

Use our Free DNS with any domain, registered anywhere. Enter a domain or subdomain below to get started — free of charge.

You will sign in or create an account so we can attach the zone to you.

What is Free DNS?

Free DNS keeps the name visible on the internet, backs you up as secondary DNS, and covers DNS while you transfer. Third-party domain owners are welcome.

Third-party domains welcome

Free DNS is for names registered anywhere, not only at Reginova.

Covers domains without DNS

Use it when the current registrar sells the name but does not host DNS.

Covers DNS during transfers

Keep the site resolving while an unlock and authorization code finish.

Straightforward setup

Request the zone, copy the nameservers, then edit records here.

Is Free DNS right for me?

Everyday sites and mail

Free DNS with optional Dynamic DNS is enough for most personal sites, small businesses, and transfers that need a stable bridge.

Busy or security-sensitive

If the site is high traffic or needs DNSSEC and a published uptime credit path, move to Premium DNS after the zone is here.

How do I set up Free DNS?

  1. Enter your domain

Type the domain in the bar above and choose Get Free DNS. You will sign in or create an account so we can attach the zone.

  2. Set up DNS

Open the domain in your account and review the Free DNS nameserver pair assigned to the zone.

  3. Change your nameservers

At the current registrar, replace the old nameservers with the Reginova pair. You usually have several days for propagation.

  4. Wait for verification

After the nameserver change is visible, we verify the zone. Then edit A, MX, TXT, and other records from the account.

What Free DNS includes

Host records

Publish A, AAAA, CNAME, NS, MX, TXT, SRV, and related records from the domain page.

Email forwarding

Create addresses on the domain and forward to an inbox you already use, when forwarding is enabled.

URL forwarding

Redirect visitors with a simple forward when the account offers URL redirects for that zone.

Dynamic DNS

Update an A record automatically when a home or office IP changes, when Dynamic DNS is enabled.

Secondary / backup use

Point Free DNS as a safeguard while you keep another DNS provider, or while a transfer completes.

External domains

No need to transfer the registration first. Renewals stay at the current registrar until you move.

Free DNS vs Premium DNS

Both host authoritative DNS. Premium DNS adds anycast reach, DNSSEC, failover, and a yearly fee.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get Free DNS?

Enter the domain in the Get Free DNS bar above, sign in or register, then change nameservers at the current registrar to the pair shown in your account. You can also open a ticket listing several domains for bulk setup.

Should I get Premium DNS instead?

Choose Premium DNS for busy e-commerce, mission-critical sites, or when you need DNSSEC, anycast reach, and a published uptime credit path. Free DNS is enough for most personal and small-business zones.

Can I set up Free DNS as a backup?

Yes. Use it as a secondary path while another DNS provider stays primary, or as a bridge during a domain transfer.

How does Free DNS work, and what is included?

We host the authoritative zone. After nameservers point here, resolvers learn your records from Reginova. Free DNS includes common record types; email/URL forwarding and Dynamic DNS are included when those tools are enabled on the account.

What is Free DNS, and why should I use it?

It is a no-charge DNS host for names registered anywhere. Use it when the current registrar does not provide DNS, when you want a backup during transfer, or when you want to manage records in a Reginova account before you transfer.

Do I still pay for the domain?

Yes. Free DNS is DNS hosting only. Registration and renewal stay with whoever holds the name until you transfer.
